In April 2017, as part of « Musicas Hibridas », Franco-Colombian exchange project led by le Periscope -innovative music scene in Lyon- about 30 musicians, professionals in arts, researchers and different teachers came in Lyon. Among them, some musicians of the avant-garde/free-punk-jazz-noise band Mula.

Mula is a sextuor-band from Bogota formed in 2013 and already has 3 records released. Their sound is personnal ; somewhere between a punk energy, the free-jazz freedom and some noise hardcore influences. They are truly actors of this music scene in Colombia and also part of the most known El Ombligo or Meridian Brothers.

PoiL is a three-piece band from Lyon (FR) with no limits and already well specified, since he was formed in 2008, the same year their first record « L’ire des papes » was released (a new edition of this record has been re-released in 2017). Three records releases and more than 200 gigs later, the band prepares its fourth LP release, kind of concept-album sung in Occitan language. It is called « Sus » and will be out in April 2019, on Dur et Doux Records.

This split 12 inch is called « Mula PoiL » and it is the result of a more or less spontaneously meeting between both bands. This records will be released in November 2018, still on Dur et Doux Records. It features 2 tracks from Mula and one track from PoiL. The artwork was made by Willy Tenia, already known for his work with PinioL, another band in which PoiL is involved.

To celebrate this release, PoiL will be travelling to Columbia for a few concerts.
